Biologische activiteit

Beschrijving	Puromycin (CL13900, Puromycine) is een antibioticum, een analoog van het 3'-uiteinde van aminoacyl-tRNA en een remmer van de eiwitsynthese die tyrosyl-tRNA nabootst, wat vroegtijdige beëindiging van de translatie veroorzaakt. Het blokkeert de translatie door elongerende polypeptideketens van ribosomen te labelen en vrij te geven en is veel gebruikt in moleculair biologisch onderzoek.
