GSK591 (EPZ015866, GSK3203591) is een krachtige selectieve remmer van het arginine methyltransferase PRMT5 met een IC50 van 4 nM.

In vitro

In een in vitro biochemische test remt GSK591 het PRMT5/MEP50-complex potent de methylering van (histon) H4 met IC50 = 11 nM. In Z-138-cellen remt deze verbinding de symmetrische arginine-methylering van SmD3 met EC50 = 56 nM. Bovendien is deze chemische stof selectief voor PRMT5 (tot 50 micromolair) ten opzichte van een panel van methyltransferasen.
