AKR1C1-IN-1 is een krachtige en selectieve remmer van humaan 20alpha-hydroxysteroïde dehydrogenase (AKR1C1) met Ki-waarden van respectievelijk 4 nM, 87 nM, 4,2 μM en 18,2 μM voor AKR1C1, AKR1C2, AKR1C3 en AKR1C4.

AKR1C1-IN-1 vermindert het metabolisme van progesteron in de cellen significant met een IC50-waarde van 460 nM.
