Biologische activiteit

Beschrijving Ursolic Acid (NSC 167406, NSC-4060, Prunol, Urson, Malol) is een pentacyclische triterpeenzuur, gebruikt in cosmetica.
In vitro Ursoolzuur (Malol) is een pentacyclische triterpeenzuur, gebruikt in cosmetica, dat ook in staat is verschillende soorten kankercellen te remmen door het STAT3-activeringspad te remmen en humane fibrosarcoomcellen door de expressie van matrixmetalloproteïnase-9 te verminderen door via de glucocorticoïdreceptor te werken. Als geneesmiddel wordt het goed verdragen en kan het topisch en oraal worden gebruikt. Ursoolzuur kan ook dienen als uitgangsmateriaal voor de synthese van krachtigere bioactieve derivaten, zoals antitumorale middelen.
