Biologische activiteit

Beschrijving Fenofibrate is een verbinding van de fibraatklasse en een fibraatzuurderivaat. Deze verbinding is een selectieve agonist van PPARα met een EC50 van 30 μM. Het bindt aan en remt cytochrome P450 epoxygenase (CYP)2C met een IC50 van respectievelijk 0,2 μM, 0,7 μM en 9,7 μM voor CYP2C19, CYP2B6 en CYP2C9. Deze chemische stof induceert autophagy.
