Beschrijving Baicalein is een CYP2C9- en prolyl endopeptidase-remmer.

In vitro

Baicalein remt robuust stress-geïnduceerde hypertrofie, door p38-signalering en PKD-fosforylering bij serine 744/748 (S744/748) te verzwakken, en de signaaltransducer en activator van transcriptie 3 (STAT3) te downreguleren.
In vivo

Baicalein vertoont een beschermend effect tegen LPS/D-gal-geïnduceerde acute leverbeschadiging via onderdrukking van NLRP3-gemedieerde pro-inflammatoire cytokinesproductie.

    Neonatal rat ventricular myocytes (NRVMs) are stimulated to hypertrophy with phenylephrine (PE;10 M) in the absence or presence of vehicle control (Veh) or phytochemicals (apigenin (Api), baicalein (Bac), berberine hydrochloride (BHCl), emodin (Emod); All compounds are used at 10 μM) for 48 h. RNA is isolated and qPCR performed to analyze the natriuretic peptides (ANP and BNP), interleukins (IL-6, IL-1α, and IL-1β, CXC chemokine ligands (CXCL2 and CXCL6) and CC Chemokine ligands (CCL3 and CCL6).

NKILA stably overexpressed and control SMMC-7721 and HepG2 cells were treated with a series dose of Baicalein (0, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 μM) for 48 h. Then, cell proliferation was detected by Glo cell viability assays. The control condition was defined as media alone with no NKILA overexpression.
